Ask her about her first deployment to Hurricane Sandy in 2012!
Julie’s small family includes an adult son named James, a very loyal Border Collie named “Sophie”, and three cats “Sassyfrass”, “Sylvia” and “Sidvicious”. In her busy role as administrator she has some time for a few hobbies, which are sewing, refinishing furniture, softball and seeking out creative outlets.
Julie says that her favorite part of veterinary medicine is nurturing the human –animal bond, whether it is between clients and their pets or staff and their patients. It starts with staff that communicates effectively, management that provides exceptional leadership, training and structure and the knowledge base and tools to deliver a high standard of medicine.
Laura came to Sunset in June 2006 as a Client Service Representative and is now our front office supervisor. Her family is not complete without the furry ones! She has "Peggy Sue" a Silky and "Holly" her fiery little Chihuahua!
Laura says her favorite part of veterinary medicine started when she was a child and her father trained the family German Shepherd to play and walk the kids to their bus stop for school. So for that reason, she is doing what she loves to do and that is working with pets and their people!

Prior to that she had a career of being a wonderful mother to her two children and wife to her husband! She has a double major with a BS in Sociology and a BS in Social Work. Robin has really grown this year at Sunset, as she not only takes care of our patient’s pharmaceutical needs, but she also has taken on the task of ordering the food for our patients. She is our go-to person when it comes to educating our clients on nutrition for preventative health and treatment!
Robin also enjoys nutrition at home, as she loves to be a gourmet cook for her family! She is very much involved with her church and teaches Sunday school to the teens. Her most favorite leisurely pleasure is fishing on a boat with her husband, because she gets to relax and read a good book while her husband catches the fish! Jasmina has been with Sunset since October 2013, as a veterinary assistant. She has 4 years experience in the industry and graduated from Carrington College, an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program with an Associates of Science in Veterinary Technology. She plays an essential role in the practice by providing clients education and doctors assistance in the exam room.

She has a 4 year old Chihuahua named “Gucci”, a 1 year old German Shepherd named “Tru” and 3 year old Pomeranian named “Ozzy”.
Jasmina’s favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is everything! For the sake of the question, she would narrow it down to the fact that she loves to be a part of saving lives when it comes to critical emergencies that come in. It keeps her on her toes as she gets to problem-solve with the team in figuring out what is happening with the patient in the moment and being able to respond in a timely manner. In addition, she loves learning new things every day and gaining so much knowledge to be able to educate our clients to make their life better along with their furry family members. She says, “all-in-all, I love my job and how rewarding it is!”

Tim joined the Sunset team in June 2014, as a veterinary assistant with 10 years of experience in the industry! He has an extensive background in management in other trades and the veterinary industry. He is a natural leader with experience in general practice, emergency and critical care, and pet hospitality! Since Tim has started at Sunset, he has been a critical component to being able to offer our clients Emergency and Critical Care. He enjoys being involved in saving lives and easing our client’s anxiety when they are faced with an unexpected crisis.
Tim is not a homebody as he would prefer to be in the outdoors backpacking, mountain biking, and kayaking! Or anything outdoors! He never goes alone though, because he always has his furry companion, "Dutch Alexander Super Pup", the Border Collie to share the fun!
The part of veterinary medicine that Tim enjoys the most is being able to experience the bond between the owners and their beloved companions!
